The idea was taken from this anime: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encycloped…me.php?id=10474

For a quick summary of the anime’s plot of interest:

Essentially, Japan is in a state of the slumps, devoid of any motivation or livelihood. In response to this, an unknown political figure, named Mr. Outside, chooses 12 people living in various areas to become potential future founders of a new improved Japan. Each person is given a hi-tech cellphone, each holding 10 billion yen and connects to a central receptionist named “Juiz”, who is capable of doing just about anything in Japan from murders to political screwups (Like making the prime minister of Japan step up to the podium during a hearing and simply say the word “Uncle” and then walk away) so long as it is paid for. The rules for the 12 people are pretty straightforward:

1. Use the money you have available to save Japan from becoming a graveyard of sorts

2. Out of the 12 people, one person is called the “supporter”. The supporter will kill you if:
a. You use up all 10 billion yen
b. You spend even a small part of that 10 billion yen on something that in no way will save Japan
c. You do not use the cellphone to pay for something after a certain amount of time
d. Someone else besides you wins the game (saves Japan) before you do (In which the rest of the players will be killed off).

Anyways, here’s the plan so far (still undergoing modifications):

Game objective: With a new player on a clean slate, start from day one of life as a Milletian and end by clearing G10 (subject to change if G11-12 is released by the event start) without having skipped any chapters/generations.

Involved: 4 participants playing as the Selecao members, 4 “Juiz” receptionists (should be elite fighters), acquaintances that are amateur-novice fighters who can assist with filling in positions and offering low-grade assistance, veteran/elite mercenary fighters.

Prizes (Subject to change):

Juiz receptionists: 25k nx for participation in the event (or putting up with whatever annoying sh** your Selecao might put you through) Additionally, you may keep any gold that is given to you via Selecao task requests.

Selecao Members:

1st place grand prize: 100k nx for completion (50k nx if no one successfully wins the event)
2nd place runner up: 30k nx
3rd place: 10k nx
4th place: All the leftover gold from every Selecao member (10k nx if all 4 members use up all their gold)

Overview: Since our guild doesn’t have many event participants in the first place, the number will be taken from 12 down to 4. Each participant will have a personal receptionist who will accompany, monitor, advise, and if requested provide assistance to the participant. The participant him/herself will operate an entirely new character (known as a/the Selecao character) at total level 1, no jump started knowledge of skills, and little more than a 1,000,000 gold check in the inventory.

Generation quests cannot be skipped. To verify that the character has in fact completed each generation without skipping, a certain requirement from each generation will be checked as proof of completion. Verification will be as follows:

G1: “Who saved the Goddess” title and “How to reach Tir Na Nog” keyword

G2: “Mythril Mine” keyword and a screenshot of your character facing against Tabhartas or Esras (you do not have to be in the middle of combat to fire the screenshot, just make sure it has you and Tabhartas or Esras in it.)

G3: “Savior of Erinn” title and either a screenshot of you wearing an Anti-fomor robe or one of you and Cromm Cruiach in the background

G7: A screenshot of you in Atrata’s RP

G8: “Dragon Knight” title and an extra irinid bolt in your inventory (drop your first irinid crystal and grab a replacement one from belita, and then create 2 bolts, one for use against Cromm and another as proof you’ve progressed that far)

G9: “Shadow Hero” title and Adniel’s Hornpipe in your inventory

G10: 4 cloud crystals in your inventory and a screenshot of you and your doppelganger (with or without demi doesn’t matter)

Rules:

Participants/Selecao Members:

Generation quests must be done in order. No one is allowed to make any form of progress on G9 before finishing G2 otherwise the story doesn’t quite add up.

While your Selecao character identities should be kept secret, you can go reveal them as well as bond with other Selecao characters if you truly wish. Just keep in mind that no one should know your identity besides your receptionist beforehand. An exception to this is requesting the identity of a Selecao character from your receptionist, in which that will cost money while you may be able to simply ask the person him/herself. I will take measures so that if left unchanged, you will be able to see other Selecao members but not be able to contact them remotely unless the both of you come to an agreement to work together in some way.

As mentioned before, you will be operating a low profile starting character that has nothing other than the startup belongings and a check with 1 million gold on it. With the exception of part time jobs, npc sales, exploration quests, and shadow mission rewards, you are not to add any gold to that one million. You still may collect the gold and have it sent to your non-Selecao character through your receptionist so you don’t have to worry if you come across a huge lucky finish.

Essentially, you may use that gold for anything to benefit your character and you can go along any path you desire, be it melee, range, magic, or alchemy (hell, make a non-combatant life-skill oriented pussy if you think it’ll do the trick)

You may not import weapons/armor/supplies from your original character to your Selecao character without notifying your receptionist and paying for the import fee. If I find something on you that doesn’t seem naturally obtainable that your receptionist is unaware of, you will be questioned and possibly disqualified.

You may NOT request help from friends you have on your original characters freely. A heavy penalty will be made to your gold reserves if you received professional help without notifying anyone. You can, however, request professional assistance from your receptionist at a less costly price in which multiple slots will be open for any strong friends you may have. (you will be charged based on how many people you bring with you.)

It is recommended you operate your Selecao character while your receptionist is present, but if you don’t wish to do so, you may proceed during that time alone. You can also leave tasks for your receptionist to do while you are busy or absent, in which your receptionist may charge you based upon the tasks.

Valid tasks are as follows (charge rates are still being decided):

While you are offline, your receptionist may play as you to clear a solo dungeon or group dungeon, as well as explore other regions to add to the mana tunnel selection list.

You may request transportation to faraway regions via 2-person mount. If you know a (very) weak friend who has a multi-personnel mount then you may request transportation from that friend for free instead.

If a dungeon proves to be far too difficult for you to complete, you may bring your receptionist as a companion and request that he/she “escort” (or literally enter a state of mass destruction in your presence) you through that dungeon. You may possibly reduce the cost of the request by lowering the task to simply killing one monster or clearing simply one room as opposed to clearing the entire dungeon.

You may send your receptionist off to shop for weapons, clothing, and medical supplies if you don’t want to waste time having to get them yourself. There is no charge for the action of your receptionist shopping in your place, but you will still have to pay for the purchased goods in full yourself, as well as any bank charges if any occur with the purchase.

You may request that your receptionist activate long-distance resurrection by him/herself or another character. Keep in mind though that advanced phoenix feathers are extremely expensive so you are advised to be prepared to clear the dungeon instead of prepare for potential death and then recovery.

As mentioned before, your receptionist may take items and gold on your Selecao character and transfer it to your original character. DO NOT TRANSFER ANY OF THE ORIGINAL 1 MILLION GOLD TO YOUR ORIGINAL CHARACTER OR YOU WILL BE DISQUALIFIED!!!

You may ask your receptionist for tips and enemy analysis. Advice is free so long as it does not relate to locating or identifying other Selecao characters. (and yes, if you’re trying to have fun, you can ask your receptionist where another Selecao is to go and pester him/her)

Please refrain from making impossible requests for your receptionist. Juiz may have been able to do everything but your personal receptionist can only do so much since he/she isn’t a god. Anyone abusing their receptionist with impossible tasks will be charged with a moderate penalty.

You may not attempt to take loans from other people as a Selecao character. The 1 million is all you are allowed to use, be it clothing/armor, weapons, and combat supplies as well as repairs and upgrades.

If you run out of gold before completing G10, you are to halt your progress immediately and then return to your original character. I will go to your Selecao character and evaluate the character’s progress for your ranking.

Once one of the four Selecao characters complete’s G10, the game ends and all other participants are to halt their generation quest progress. From there, runner up to last place will be determined based on progress. If everyone runs out of gold to use before achieving completion of G10, the grand prize will be cut in half and awarded to the person who made the most progress in the generation storyline.

“Juiz” Receptionists:

Other than valid Selecao requests, you are not to assist your Selecao member in any way. If you offer more help than was asked, your receptionist contract may be terminated and the job given to a new person, as well as your participation prize reduced or revoked.

Essentially, you are your Selecao member’s slave for the duration of the event. He/she can choose to be a good friend or a sadistic master with the type and number of requests made, as well as the manner in which you are ordered to carry out the request. If you feel like you are being abused to the point you are about to quit, you may either resign from your post as receptionist or contact me to attempt to resolve things.

If something irl happens that prevents you from logging onto mabi, find a way to send a message to me that you will not be able to operate as a receptionist so that someone else may temporarily replace you.

You are allowed to deny a request if you feel like the cost is likely to be higher than what the Selecao character has left in his/her balance. Also, you are highly advised to deny requests for items of luxury that do not relate to generation quests in any fashion although it is the Selecao member’s own loss if he/she chooses to purchase something of luxury.

Bystanders:

Do not assist a Selecao member unless you’ve been allowed by the receptionist to do so. Failure to comply will result in disqualification of the Selecao member. (please do not attempt to disqualify a Selecao by forcing your help upon him/her)

If you happen to see any suspicious activity from a Selecao or receptionist, please report the issue to me and from there on you may choose to investigate or move away. If you discover an act of rule breaking and manage to prove it, you will be awarded 250k for your efforts as well as a chance of replacing the Selecao member who has violated the rules.

I will make modifications to the rules and prizes over time since it’ll be roughly a bit less than a year before this event is launched. In the meantime, feel free to post feedback or apply as a Selecao member or Receptionist.

Noblesse Oblige. Even with the power of the state, may you continue to serve under justice.

[Alright, I've been meaning to post this idea for a few days now and have decided to stop procrastinating from it(because I'm quite good at that). I'll probably get shot for this idea, but here it is.]

THE STRIP JOUST TOURNAMENT.

HOSTESSES:

The lovely Emylion and Shintsuu

TOURNAMENT RULES:

Have fun! That is all.

THE WAY IT IS DONE:

An even number of players will be competing in this event.
If anyone has watched Dragonball, the tournament will have brackets where winners will advance from 1on1 jousting duels.
Provided that the jousting system allows spectators and works the way I expect, this may or may not run smoothly.
The tournament will run until we are left with two winners who will be competing in a STRIP JOUST.

STRIP JOUST RULES:

You must be wearing things we can see!

- Robe
- Hat
- Shoes
- Clothing
- Gloves

Okay so you’re probably wondering how this works.
In the animation, I believe you’re given armor to joust with, but in between the duels you will be required…
YES, REQUIRED to take off one article of clothing in front of everyone.
Yes, you must do it.

Be aware people will be watching to see if you aren’t being honest!
This event is for fun so don’t ruin it.

PRIZES:

*Gold
*To be announced
*To be announced

DATE/TIME:

Up to the players!

Please post suggestions/comments/criticisms. Should this event happen or not? Or do you just not care?

I started playing Mabinogi in open beta; this was back when I was a sophomore in high school. Now I’m in 12th grade and I’m graduating from high school on June 11; as such, I will be busy doing school stuff until then (such a projects to do and senior activities). After high school I’m joining the US Navy so I’m going to quit Mabinogi: I want someone to replace me as the Event Officer! Thank you for all the good times my Onigiri family~

Onigiri now has our own Ventrilo~
For those that do not know what it is, it is a Voice Over IP program similar to Skype or Teamspeak. It’s a bit more convienient than Skype because you don’t need someone to host the call and add people. People can come and go as they please. And you can map a Push to talk button so we don’t hear you breathing (or clicking madly) xD;

People that don’t have a mic can join too, there is a chat option and a comment option where you can type and respond. Or you can always just lurk around and listen smile.gif

You can download the Client here:
http://www.ventrilo.com/download.php

Server Info:
IP: 216.193.220.173
Port: 3234
Password: spicytuna

Keep in mind, it’s a pretty large Vent but its first come first serve. Onigiri Members only please, there are of course exceptions. But if you have someone you would like to join the Vent server , please run it by me first.

This is just a test run for a few months and seeing how it goes. I’m hoping this help with member bonding since we can still all chat together even if we’re not playing Mabinogi. Hopefully this will help out with people that need help with quests or running dungeons. I have added a few other channels for those of us that want to play any other games together. Again, I’m hoping a lot of people come in and just hang out (since I am paying for it).

Edit: Please don’t abuse this and be annoying. If I get complaints, you will be banned from Vent. Thanks ^^

So I know everyone’s been clamoring about guild robes.
Here’s the update on that situation.

When designing the guild robe:
There is the outer color (which is the majority of the robe) is RANDOM. It cannot be changed manually when designing the robe. It changes every Mabinogi day.
What we can design/change is the inner color, the emblem, and the tassel.

We were misinformed in that the robes will change colors even after then have been made by the guild leader. This is not true. Once made by the guild leader, the colors will stay the same for guildies to buy.

Therefore, we created one because we believed that they would still change colors. Again, they do not change colors and is currently orange.

What we are doing right now is we are going to make a new one. We are color camping for white.

So I know there is a guild robe available to buy but DO NOT buy it! If you wish to save some gold and not have to buy dyes, we urge you to please wait. Please be patient and wait until we have remade it so that the outer color is white!!

If you do not have the patience to wait a while longer and is in absolute desperate need of it, you can purchase it but you must dye it white!

I promise we will let everyone know when the robe is ready for buying!
If you have any questions, feel free to pm me on the forum or in game.

The reasons why we chose our design:
We wanted to make it as original and similar to an onigiri as possible.
White: symbolizes the rice part of an onigiri
Dark Green: symbolizes the seaweed wrap part on an onigiri.
Emblem: closest thing there that looks like an onigiri

Below is a screenshot of what the guild robes SHOULD look like.
(yes we did have to dye ours)

I am in the process of putting up a roster with our member photos. So I need your help!

Please submit up to 5 photos with the dimensions of 150×250px. So I can add you to zee webpage ^^

Feel free to include any of your Alts but you will still only get a max of 5 photos.

You are welcome to send uncropped screenshots and I will crop them for you, but it is not my fault of you’re missing an arm or leg…or a head… x3

There are already some examples up. Roster Page

Mouseover any picture to see zee scrolling effect.

I will be deleting your post after I add it to zee roster page.

Also, you can update your pictures at any time. \o/
